Live Long and Strong with a Healthy Breakfast

Eating a healthy breakfast is not only a way to help us get moving in the morning, but it is a significant source of energy that gives us motivation and euphoria for the rest of our day.
It may sound cliché that breakfast is one the important meal of the day; however, studies show that eating a healthy breakfast reduces chances to be obese and suffer from diabetes. That is why; it is very substantial to have full breakfast meal every morning.
Unfortunately, living in a hectic routine of daily life, we often forget about morning breakfast or simply do not think that this first meal of the day can become transition to healthier life. Changing your morning routine will show the health benefits of taking time to eat breakfast instead of skipping it before you go to work or your children go to school.
A healthy breakfast sets the tone for your energy for the rest of the day. Skipping breakfast can lead us to unhappy condition, our brain and body run slowly, and we can get tired very quickly. Of course, you can have a sugary snack or several cups of coffee, but it will not provide you with the healthy energy for the day, it runs out very rapidly. Moreover, if you start your day with the bad habit of an unhealthy breakfast, you will definitely have unhealthy lunch choices also.
We even do not realize that eating a healthy breakfast is one of the fastest ways to lose weight. Many people believe that skipping breakfast helps them to lose weight, but it is not true. Breakfast helps our immune system work for us; moreover, your metabolism slows down during sleep time and it does not speed back until you eat a healthy, morning breakfast.
What is the best for morning breakfast? The truly healthy breakfast should contain protein and some fiber. Protein can come from low fat meat, eggs, beans, and dairy. Fiber can be found in whole grains, vegetables, and fruits. Stay away from the sugary cereal, white bread, and syrups because they digest quickly and increase hunger.
In the mad rush of the morning, breakfast can be the last thing we think of. If there is no way to wake up early and prepare breakfast, or if you are just so tired, irritable, and restless; I suggest planning ahead.
Before you go to bed, take some time to prepare morning breakfast. If you do not have time to eat breakfast before you go to work, you can split breakfast into two parts. For instance, two eggs you can eat first, and one apple you can have as a snack later.
Here are some grab-and –go breakfast suggestion (for people who do not have time to eat breakfast in the morning):
• Whole grain bagel with low fat cottage cheese or cream cheese
• Two hard-boiled eggs with one slice of Ezekiel bread
• Fresh fruits with yogurt
• Fresh fruits. Cut the fresh fruits and make fruit salad beforehand
• Whole grain muffin, avoid over-sized and high fat muffins
• Trail mix. Choose the trail mix with nuts and fruits

So, try to eat healthy breakfast for two weeks at least, and you will see how you feel. Make “grab-and-go breakfast, and stay happy for the rest of your day.
